The Catweazle Club offers a great mix of audience and performers. It has a lively atmosphere which evidently welcomes and supports new talents. The performances can range from poetry to songs and stories but there is always something unusual which makes this night a must-do if you’re staying over in Oxford.
Raoul’s offers a huge number of brilliant cocktails as well as some very unusual liquors. But if the huge list is too intimidating and you don’t know your Cosmopolitan from your Long Island Iced Tea, then have a chat to the bartender and they’ll recommend something based on your favourite flavours and spirits. Cocktail making classes are also available.
The Varsity Club has an amazing roof bar as well as some great cocktails at affordable prices. This terrace affords breathtaking views of Oxford’s most celebrated feature – its spires. In winter there are blankets and candles to make it more homely up there.
Bar Aroma is a nice bar, reasonably priced, offering a great range of cocktails, shisha pipes and heated smokers. The bar staff are friendly and there’s always a great atmosphere here on a Saturday night.
The Bear Tavern is more of a pub than a bar but it’s worth visiting on a night out on account of its cosiness. It has two fires, low ceilings and a great ambience.
